Rain Policy

TRA will run ran or shine. Learning is the goal and rain brings out the importance of proper riding techniques.

Eagles Canyon Raceway

Opened in 2007, ECR offers the rider a wide variety of corners with lots of elevation. The 2.8-mile track, with four high gear straights, has multiple hard braking areas and blind corners that keep the rider on their toes the entire lap. The double apex corners require precision line choices.

Typhoon Roadracing Academy uses ECR because of the challenges it offers the rider. Finding a facility that offers this many technical hurdles is not easy. Easy tracks are not easy to teach on because the rider leaves without a good base of skills from which to build on. At ECR the rider is able to learn every aspect of braking, cornering, body position, speed and focus. With two different track configurations a wider variety of corner types are accessible.

Eagles Canyon Raceway is a membership racetrack similar to a country club golf course. There is a large rider’s lodge with two 50 inch flat screens playing SPEED and other sports channels all day. Large bathroom with showers are also available. ECR has a grill and vending machines for refreshments. Covered and enclosed garages with electricity are made available to guests and members for a fee. This is a spectator friendly racetrack with an elevated viewing area to see a great portion of ECR.

Bike Preparations

The schedule for the TRA days is very compact and busy, therefore it is imperative to show up with a well prepared motorcycle.

  • Race and street bikes welcome
  • Good track-approved tires
High millage street tires do not make good tires for learning. The worn centers with flat spots make transitions from side to side difficult. Bridgestone, Dunlop and Michelin all make excellent street tires that can easily handle track duty. (ask your local motorcycle dealer if you are unsure)
  • Street bikes must remove mirrors
  • The headlight and blinkers must be taped (blue painters tape works best)
  • Leave the rear brake light functional and untapped
  • Fill the bike up with fuel upon arriving
There will be allotted times for fueling throughout the day

Riding Gear

  • Snell, British standard, or ECE2205 approved helmets are required
  • full riding leathers including leg and arm protection (one or two-piece)
  • Street riding leather gloves
  • Over the ankle leather riding boots
  • Back protectors required
  • Kangaroo is acceptable as a leather replacement
